Different Types Of Salwar Kameez

The salwar kameez and Indian bridal sarees is one of the most popular and known attire of females belongs to the Indian sub continent. It is a remnant of the Mughal era when the royal women of the time introduced salwar kameezes to the general public. Since then this dress has become a favorite of fashionistas and even designers are now busy reinventing it many forms in order to increase its popularity even further.

Here are a few popular variations of the traditional salwar kameez both in India and abroad:

Salwar Kurta/Punjabi Suit: - which is gathered at the waist with a chord/drawstrings/elastic band. It has small panchas.

Parallel Salwar Suit: - A parallel Designer salwar kameez has straight cuts just like normal pants. It is different from traditional salwar which has wider upper portion and narrower lower portion.

Patiala Salwar Suit - It has drapes/pleats which are twisted and gathered at the lower held of the waist.

Churidar salwar Suit -it is a tight fit like stretch jeans. It has curls at the ankle length. The churidar salwar kind has pancha at the end instead of the curls or churis at the ankle.

Sharara Salwar Kameez: - Sharara salwar has wider leg pants that have similarity with full skirts. The pants are fitted till the knee, with a big flare from the knee onwards or a kind of loose, trailing pajama.
